All young people from our parish family are part of Youth Ministry…no need to “enroll”, no need to pay dues, just join us! You are not the Church of tomorrow, you are the young Church today, and the Church needs you, so now’s the time to check us out! All your friends are welcome to join us as well, bring them along to any of our events. World Youth Day 2011: A once in a lifetime opportunity! Bishop Rhoades will be leading our trip to World Youth Day Aug. 10-22, 2011, Madrid.
Living Stations of the Cross…Practices held on Sundays, 3-5 pm in the church, to be presented on Good Friday, April 2, 7:00 pm. All youth, families, and parishioners are invited to join us on Good Friday in the church for this beautiful experience of prayer! Music practices for Living Stations are being held on Mondays after the Novena at 7:30 pm in the music room.

World Youth Day Meeting: this Tues, Mar. 9th, in the hospitality room, 7-8:30 pm. All students attending WYD 2011 are asked to attend, with at least on parent.
We need help distributing soup: We have been overwhelmed with soup orders! If you can make some soup at home, let me know and we'll send you Fr. Sullivan's recipe for one of them. We also have the quart containers for you to put it in, you'll just need to come by the office to pick them up. Or if you can join us Thursday after school or evening, or Friday after school or evening to cook...let me know! Or maybe, next weekend, you can come sit our "soup table" after whatever Mass you are attending to help distribute soup to those who ordered. We need you!
St. Francis Soup Kitchen: Sat., Mar. 13, 11:30-1:30 pm. Meet in the School parking lot behind St. Francis Church. A great way to serve those so much less fortunate than ourselves...let me know if you can help.
Youth Nights:
High School Youth Night: This Sunday, Mar. 7 and Sun. Mar. 21, 6:30-8:30 pm, Leo Hall. We continue our Lenten Journey together as we focus on discipleship…Join us for a great evening of faith, friends, food and fun! All are welcome!
Jr. High Youth “Movie and Pizza” Night: Next Sat. Mar. 13, 6-7:30 pm, Leo Hall. Join us for an evening of service, food and fun! We'll be putting Easter baskets together for those in need, making Easter cards for those in nursing homes, and making prayer cards for those in Haiti.
COFFEE HOUSE CHANGE:
Due to conflict with McDevitt's open mic night, and the winter concert the following weekend, we’ve rescheduled our Coffee House for the spring! New date: Sun., May 23rd, 3-6 PM in the gym. Any youth and parishioners who would like to perform, contact Karen. All parishioners, friends and families are invited to join us for a great evening of talent!
Youth Mass: (note change) Next Sat., Mar. 20th, 5 pm Mass. All Jr. High and High School Youth interested in serving as greeters, musicians/singers, gift bearers, contact Karen to sign up. Also let me know if you'd like to start lectoring. Music practice for Youth Mass will be Sun., Mar. 14, 5:30 pm in the music room.
World Youth Day Palm Sunday: Join youth from all over the Diocese to celebrate Mass at the Cathedral with our Diocesan Administrator, Fr. Snyder, and Diocesan clergy – including our own Fr. Jose! – followed by dinner and concert in Strawberry Square. We’ll depart by bus at 2 pm from SCL parking lot, and return by 7 pm. Youth Ministry will pay for your dinner, just join us!
